DICE LIFE: Behavioral Cut Ups and Magick
Tue, Jan 15, 7:30pm – 9:30pm
Time appears linear. Cut-ups make time arbitrary, non-linear. Cut-ups loosen rational order, break preconceptions and expected response. Control Disintegrates. Magick integrates. We will explore some methods of a contemporary, non-mystical interpretation of “Magick”. Using methods described in the book of fiction, “The Diceman”- by Luke Reinhardt – As well as methods of Magick and Art re-introduced by Brion Gysin and William S Burroughs.. Donation: $5.

Reiki I - III
Sun, Jan 20, 8am – 5pm
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. This ability is passed on during an "attunement" given by a Reiki master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve one's health and enhance the quality of life. In this class, the Instructor will teach nontraditional Usui Tibetan Reiki and offer all three attunements. She has been a Reiki Master for five years and is a member of the Global Reiki Association. She is currently working on methods in which to in corporate a conglomeration of Reiki, Buddhism, and Ceremonial practice. Revelation or Revolution: Ben Franklin, Prometheus Unbound (Updated)
Benjamin Franklin is one of the most notable founding fathers of the United States of America. His quotable quotes, pithy epigraphs and brilliant writing have amused us and provoked us for over two centuries. Equally he is known for his sexual prowess, wild rock star behavior, gentle civility and genius mind. A brilliant inventor and experimental scientist, Franklin has refashioned the world in more ways than most of us realize. We begin to wonder what the underlying unity is beyond these divers manifestations of the puzzle we call Ben Franklin. This class will answer that riddle. He embodied the Promethean Spirit, more Luciferian than Lord Byron. His visible actions are the temporal footprint of a God transmigrating through history. He stole the fire from the heavens and guided it safely into the womb of the Earth. His legacy is not merely one of political revolution or scientific endeavor. He was not merely a humorist and philosopher, even. Beneath all of these names and forms lies the truth of the living spirit of revelation, undermining and upturning the staid structures and conditionings of Culture and Consciousness, so that the Divine Light of the Void might shine through and all might be renewed by this philosopher's stolen stone. Open to the public. Donation: $5. Doors open at 7:30pm. Info: events@knightstemplar-oto.org
